Peter is an avid English Teacher from New Zealand with a bachelor's degree in medicine. 

He found his passion for teaching at the age of 16 when he started providing one-on-one private tuition to many students at varying levels and believes that a positive environment can give students more opportunities to learn and grow. 

Since 2020, he has been teaching in Taiwan to young learners at kindergarten and elementary levels. 

Outside of teaching, Peter enjoys anything related to tech gadgetry, tending to his pet parrot birds, and riding his motorcycle around the bustling streets of Taipei.

Celine is a dedicated educator from Belize with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and a Master's in Biodiversity. 

She has over two years of teaching experience in Taiwan and five years in her home country, instructing students from kindergarten through elementary levels in English, Science, and Creative Arts. 

Celine is passionate about creating engaging and interactive learning environments, encouraging students to develop confidence in their English communication skills.

 Outside the classroom, she enjoys staying active through walks and bike rides, soaking in the everyday life around her.

Jessica, a passionate English teacher from New Zealand who loves languages and learning new skills in general. 

My interest in language learning began in Tamkang University as a Japanese language major who was surrounded by friends from different countries and backgrounds. After teaching at a local elementary school for the past year my love for language learning continued to grow which lead me to apply for LEEP. 

I aim to always create fun and engaging lessons for my students and will gladly customize my own teaching materials, props and original games according to my students needs. As someone who has gone through the process of picking up a new language multiple times, I believe that I understand the learners mindset well and hope that students will view me as someone more than a teacher, but instead, a partner in their language learning journey. 

My hobbies are countless, and include many physical activities such as badminton and dancing. On more relaxing days I love finding hidden cafes, drawing, video editing and crocheting.

My name is Jacob Spaetgens. I'm an American ESL English teacher living in Taiwan. I was born and raised in Southern Louisiana,  in the heart of Cajun country. Having taken after my mother, who is also an educator, I became interested in being a teacher. In 2017, I decided to move across the world to beautiful Taiwan, where I've been living and teaching English ever since. My goal as a teacher is to build my students' confidence by presenting concepts and material in the most accessible ways that I can, thus showing them that learning can be easy and achievable. I'm currently enrolled in the TESOL Masters Program at NTNU, as I hope to continue my own education to enhance my abilities to be an effective educator. I'm of the mindset that there is always more to learn, and I'm ready to push myself towards being a better teacher. My personal hobbies include playing the piano, watching films, playing video games, and exploring the wonderful country of Taiwan.

Pepijn is a teacher from the Netherlands who is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Finance at National Taiwan University. Before teaching in Taiwan, he gained experience tutoring high school students, helping them build their understanding and confidence across different subjects.

In his classroom, Pepijn focuses on building confidence, encouraging critical thinking, and making new concepts accessible to students. He believes that learning a foreign language should not be intimidating, and that students should feel comfortable making mistakes as they develop their English communication skills. His goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel confident using English, asking questions, and expressing their ideas.

Outside of teaching, Pepijn enjoys cycling, strolling through towns and hiking. He is also learning Mandarin and enjoys exploring Taiwan and developing his understanding of the language and culture.

Iris is a CELTA and TESOL-certified educator. She holds a BA in English Literature and is currently pursuing a US teaching license alongside an MA in Translation and Interpreting. Before joining LEEP, Iris spent seven years building diverse professional expertise across publishing, government-funded agencies, non-profit organizations, and book translation, while extensively tutoring children in international school programs.

In her classroom, Iris cultivates a dynamic, highly immersive environment where every student feels safe, supported, and confident expressing themselves. Her primary goal is to bridge cultural gaps and make education deeply engaging and accessible. A passionate advocate for literacy, she actively promotes reading; students who finish their tasks early during homework time are always encouraged to explore her curated selection of children’s books.

Outside the classroom, Iris embraces lifelong learning. She studies French and Ancient Greek, researches art history, practices oil painting, and travels frequently to experience new cultures.

Kirsten is a passionate educator from Belize with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration Management.

She has two years of experience tutoring and engaging students in Belize. Her experience also includes working as a teacher’s assistant, where she supported daily English and Math lessons and helped create creative learning materials to support their learning.

Kirsten enjoys creating a positive and engaging learning environment where students can feel comfortable participating and developing their English speaking and Math skills.

Outside of teaching, Kirsten enjoys baking, playing volleyball and spending time with her family.

Charlie is an enthusiastic teacher that specializes in Computer Science. During university, he worked as a course assistant for introductory and senior level courses. He has gained teaching experience teaching in Taiwan since the pandemic. Lastly, he helped tutor students in English and Computer Science for the last five years.

Charlie likes to maintain a warm, energizing environment where students can feel comfortable to ask questions and progress through his/her English journey. Outside of work, Charlie likes to visit the local towns, countrysides. He also likes to try different cuisines throughout the world and loves traveling during the summers!
